Sea Fans are Like Snowflakes: NoTwo are the Same

We use sea fans that have naturally detached, and washed up on the beach. Heavy thread is attached around the edges of each piece so the sharp points will not scratch the wearer. The white color is coral that grew on the sea fan when it was alive.

These are mostly Spanish Maravedis from the reign of Phillip ll of Spain, 1556 - 1598. They are affordable because they are "fair" quality, but the detail is pretty good.

And Now we've found a trove of pottery shards from a porcelain factory, operating from the early 19th century until 1932. Happily for us, they threw their imperfect pieces from their location on a cliff , down to the beach below, where they smashed, and were tumbled for decades by the sea, creating a veritable "Shard Mine"!
